Are these the right Cooper Tires for you?

Review of Cooper Lifeliner Tires

Lifeliner GLS from Cooper Tires are M/S rated and considered all-season tires. Their tire speed rating is set at 'T', which means the recommended speed is up to 118MPG.

These tires boast the Five-Rib tread design for a very quiet ride. Cooper claims that the Five-Rib design was developed using computer to optimize patterns in the tread to improve the pitch sequence (we're not exactly sure what that means either). The results... online comments and reviews with repeated praises for the quietness and smooth riding tire.

Cooper's Lifeliner tire has what they call an "Even-Wearing" composition. This means the tire has a center rib that is notched to make the tread wear evenly. There were no common threads regarding this tire having a short tread life, and there were several comments stating that the treadlife on these Cooper tires were outstanding.

There is a 60K Mile Limited Warranty offered. Cooper also has a 45 day road test offer.

Pros on the Cooper Lifeliner:

    • Quite and a smooth ride. Many considered this tire superior to Goodyear in regards to its comfortable ride.
    • Decent performance in wet weather driving.
    • Among the more 'affordable' offerings from Cooper, yet the quality is considered suburb.
    • Very long lasting treadwear, even after 70K miles.

Slightly Negative comments on these Cooper tires:

    • Some claim that these tires do not handle as well as they could in snow. There were not enough comments on this claim to be much of a concern, but if you are buying tires for snowy conditions you may want to consider a tire that reported better for those conditions.
    • Not designed for aggressive driving. Not much of a negative, but it is something that was mentioned.
    • In heavy rain you should take extra care (hang onto that wheel). There were not tons of claims of problems, but there were not tons of praises in this area either.
    • On dry pavement the traction isn't quite as good as a summer performance tires. This is to be expected however since these are sold as all-season tires.

Final thoughts from tire-reviews-online.com:

Many consumers that were resistant to purchasing American-made tires were very impressed with the Lifeliner. There is a lot of comments about how quiet the tires are considering the price.

One online tire review stated that they were having trouble with this tire in snowy conditions. There didn't seem to be ongoing concern, but it's worth noting if you are considering the Lifeliners for driving on snowy roads.

Also note that there is a 45 day road test on all Cooper tires. Price points can very, so look for those deals from Discount Tire and Sears Tire Center

BF Goodrich Advantage TA - The Advantage T/A's from BF Goodrich Tires are designed for 'everyday drivers', but also claim to target performance drivers
