Goodyear has three primary types of tire that you'll notice associated with each tire model. They are:
TripleTred |
Goodyear TripleTread has an 'Ice Zone' with interlocking tread pattern. The theory is that this enhances the gripping power on icy or slick roads. A 'Water Zone' has deeply carved grooves (Aquachannel™) that helps propel water off the tread and away from the tire. Finally an 'Outer Dry Zone' has tread reinforcement that increases maneuverability on dry pavement
|
ComforTred |
A layer between the tread and the belts provide an average of 20% more cushion than standard passenger tires. This is a claim made by Goodyear that is from 'Industry Data' (whatever that is). Tread blocks are densely packed to provide a smoother and more comfortable ride. Enhanced compound Helps provide long tread life
|
Fuel Max |
A 'Fuel-Saving Tread Compound' is said to reduce energy loss from the tire and save 2,600 miles per 4,000 kilometers worth of gas over the life of the tire. Here's the goodyear footnote on that statement:
It's a strange statement from Goodyear. We did the simple math and 4,000 kilometers equals 2,485 miles. If you figure this one out let us know. Nevertheless, read what people that own this type of tire say, then proceed to your Goodyear tire retailer with questions. Moving forward... Wet Tread Zone with Dual Aquachannel® Grooves help to evacuate water from the treads for improved traction in wet conditions. Dry Tread Zone with Solid Shoulder Blocks are said to enhance handling and traction for better maneuvering in dry conditions. 'Zig-Zagging Micro Grooves' and 'Center Tread Notches' improve grip on the road wet conditions and light snow.
