Primacy tires meets Michelin's Green X standard for low rolling resistance that confirms the tire's contribution to reducing vehicle fuel consumption and emissions of CO2 gases.
Michelin has developed into the MXV4's unique design innovations called A.S.M. (Architecture, Sculpture, and Materials. These three basic factors determine the tires capabilities.
These innovations are said to combine an architecture that optimizes contact with the road by keeping the tread rigid. This adds to the performance of the tire as well.
A new generation of Michelin Tires tread compound is molded into the Primacy MXV4's to form an asymmetric tread design with large, linked shoulder blocks. Intermediate ribs are notched and the center rib is solid to bring more responsive handling and greater stability in higher speeds. There ware twin steel belts that are reinforced by BAZ Technology. This is also said to improve ride quality and high-speed durability.
"Aggressive tread design, fantastic in wet conditions, superb corning and handling ability. Awesome grip in heat."
"Excellent in sidewall strength.... great on cornering, and good in wet. plus they have a nice aggressive looking tread design.... A great tire for those hotter months"
"A quiet and comfortable ride is why I bought the the Michelin Primacy tires. Overall, they met my expectations. The handling could be sharper, but the quiet and soft ride is worth the tradeoff."
"The Primacy's have a very short stopping distance (even in wet weather)... they are terrific except in snow and mud."
"I bought these tires because they were supposed to be quiet. They are not. They are no more quiet than the Goodyear's I had before. Handling is great but the ride is bumpy. Do not purchase these tires if you are primarily looking for quiet tires"
"... high speed cornering is not as stable as I hoped. Wet traction is a bit disappointed... nevertheless I'd still say it's an above average tire."
"I have these Michelin tires rotated every 5,000 miles and I have 25,000 on the MXV4's. I will likely reach 30,000 miles before I will need to replace. At this time, the road noise is noticeable but, not unbearable. When new until around 20,000 miles the cabin was quite and I could not hear road noise. "
"Comfortable, but I can only say that the cornering and steering is just ok"
For
high-performance tires, the Michelin Primacy MXV4's offer better durability than most. This makes these tires a good value. Also, the MXV4's earned high scores for traction on dry roads
from both experts and those that own these tires. There are mixed reviews on how well they handle in wet conditions though.
All in all, Michelin Tires produces a good quality product. You may want to compare this tire to the Michelin HydroEdge if you're concerned about handling in wet conditions. The strength of this tire is in it's dry road handling. If you are in an area that gets much snow or ice then you should consider another tire.
