| The XC LT4 are exclusively sold through Sears Tire Centers and developed by Michelin Tires. You won't find mention of these tires at the Michelin website, and you won't see them at Discount Tire Center or Big O Tire. However, Sears moves a ton of these tires. The description of the XC LT4's by Sears are: - Exceptional all-weather control
- Confident cornering and control
- Specially developed tread rubber compound
- Large stable contact patch
There actually isn't much we could find for negative reviews on these tires. Many of the online tire reviews we found were right at the Sears Tire website, so take them with a grain of salt. Look for user tire reviews directly to this website. If you have owned the Michelin XC LT4's then we'd love to hear how they worked for you. Look for the tire review form at the bottom of this page. "Having saved $20 per tire over the LTX M/S's that I intended to buy, I ended up a very happy customer. The ride, handling and noise level are fantastic." -
"These michelin tires were recommended to my by a friend that had them on his Rodeo and CRV. At this point I've had two sets of these tires on my Jeep. I'm at 50K miles and have plenty of tread left. These tires are great in snow and wet conditions. Handling is wonderful on dry roads. The Goodyear's I've had before cannot compare to the XC LT4's. This tire performs better than the others and I'll certainly buy them again." -
"Bought these at Sears Tire Center and at this time I have 68K miles on these tires! These are amazing tires, with an outstanding ride. My guess is that I could get another 20,000 miles on them." -
"The Michelin XC's handle bumps really well and are nice and quiet. In short, these are some great tires that I would recommend to anyone." -
"In my experience (and from what I've read in tire reviews), these tires are lasting quite a bit longer than many of the other 'top shelf' tires out there. " -
"...very little road noise, and my CRV is quite responsive with these new tires on it. I strongly recommend them." -
"This is my first set of tires for my car besides the factory ones. What a difference, much better handling and overall road feel. A good tire for the money." -
"90,000 plus miles on these tires. Put a new set on today. Unbelievable Value!! " Negative Comments: -
"Owned a set of LTX-M/S Michelin tires and loved them. I went to Sears Tire Center to get another set but they are not kept in stock. Rather than waiting for the LTX-M/S's I got the XC-LT4's (since I was told they're basically the same). I found that the LTX's didn't perform as well, are not as responsive, and didn't have as nice a ride as the LTX-M/S's. I feel the difference must be in the rubber since the tread is pretty much the same. Note that these are on a larger truck, not a family SUV." Final thoughts from tire-reviews-online.com: The XC LT4's are in fact quite similar to the LTX-M/S (also a Michelin tire), but because they are exclusively developed for and sold by Sears Tire Center they are cheaper. The tread is basically the same, but the rubber compound may be different. With the exception of the one negative online review listed above, all reviews were positive. The tread live on these Michelin's appear to be quite outstanding, while the handling and ride is excellent. It may be that there are some subtle differences between the XC LT4's and the LTX-M/S's, but any noticeable downside might only be found on larger vehicles. For a reasonably priced tire, get on over to Sears Tire Center and take a look. Keep an eye out for those discount tire coupons as well. And remember, if you have these tires please give us your tire review using the form below. |
