STT Tire Review - Short Life?

by Ryan
(Wheatland, Wyoming)

I have run the STT's on a GMC 2500 4 door short box truck......live and work in rough rocky country, and the tires get a little pavement, gravel county roads with a lot of granitic rock, and rough 2-tracks virtually daily.

I am only getting 20,000 miles out of a set of tires, and I am good about rotating tires at every 5,000 miles.

The first 10,000 miles these tires are great, but maybe all tires are? After that it goes downhill pretty fast. Road noise is high, in fact so high that I can not use the built-in phone in the truck as nobody can hear a word I'm saying.

Don't know what else to switch to tire-wise....so I keep spending my money on these. Our country in the Laramie Range of southeast Wyoming is a true "testing ground" for tires...eats 'em up and spits 'em out.

Great tires in several categories but receive a low score on tire "life expectancy"....
